How to Use Gold in Makeup

The warmth of gold makes almost all skin tones glow; but who says that gold is only for the face and eyes? You can give your nails and lips a gold wash too!

Nails

Straight metallics are great for nail. Add a bit of glitter to make perfect hands for the party. Glide a shimmery gold nail polish on your nails and dust on loose gold glitter. Finish off by applying a clear top coat to “trap” the gold dust.

Lips

You may have hardly thought of wearing gold on your pout, but try this. Layer your favorite lip color with a gold gloss. It adds a mystical charm to your lips.

Eyes

Dusting sheer gold eyeshadow over neutral eye makeup renders a warm hue to the palette, or you may use sparkling gold eyeliner at lower and upper lash lines.

Face

Use a highlighter or bronzer with flecks of gold in it. It renders your complexion a lovely golden glow. For a sun-kissed look, add a dash of golden bronzer to your brow bones and cheekbones.

Gold never goes out of style. Be it a shimmering gold dress or a metallic pair of shoes; this yellow metal adds “weight” to your ensemble. Be careful not to make a big fashion faux pas of going all gold from head to toe.

Using gold can be tricky. If you are using it on your face, skip that complete gold dress. The idea is to highlight gold, not letting it flow all over you!
